Happy Tangled Birthday Auri!

Hi Everyone. I hope your weekend was as sweet as mine. This weekend, i had a "Tangled" birthday party to go to... Here is the card I made for little 4-year-old Aurianna. My daughter was so excited about it because she's obssessed with that movie. I didnt have much time to work on the card, but I hope you like it.

I didn't do any major "Cricut"-ing. I used my Gypsy to cut out a square on my pink cardstock. Then I used Gypsy Wanderings for the frame in white cardstock. The flowers were stamped on with Versamark WaterPad and embossed with clear powder. I then used a small sprial stamp to fill in some of the spaces because I thought it didnt look complete. I also inked the edges with my Colorbox ink. Lastly I added a prima flower and blue ribbon from my stash.

Recipe
Paper - Cardstock from stash
Ink - Stampin' Up Baroque Burgundy, Colorbox Cat Eye, Versamark Frost
Stamps - Fiskars Swirls of Fun, Scrappy Cat # 426 Flowers and More, Hot Off the Press Tiny Words and Images
Cartridges - Gyspy Wanderings
Other - Hero Arts Ultra Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Prima Flower, Eyelet, Ribbon from stash

Happy BEAR-day!

Hello friends! Time for a masculine card. Paula at More Than Favors is having their weekly WACKY WEDNESDAY Challenge for a masculine card. Coincidentally, Birthday Sundaes is also doing a masculine birthday card challenge this week. Super, super fun.

The card is 4.25" x 5". I had originally prepared this card to be the standard 5.5" x 4.25". However, my daughter and nephew got to playing with some of my craft paper today, including the base of this card, so I had to trim the edges a bit since it had a few tears.

This bear is from Create A Critter; cut at 3.25". I am loving this cartridge. I would like to try and make every critter on here! ... we'll see...

Recipe
Paper - mostly stash, patterned paper is from Me and My Big Ideas
Ink - Color Box Chalk Ink
Stamps - Hot Off the Press Tiny Words and Images
Cartridge - Create a Critter, Fabulous Finds (for sentiment)
Other - EK Success Border Punch, Corner Punch, Cuttlebug Candy Cane Stripes Embossing Folder, pop dots, Zig 2-way glue pen.

Hope you like it. Feel free to play along for the Wacky Wendesday and Birthday Sundaes Challenges!

Have a fabulous day!

Challenge Me!

Konnichiwa Friends! I've got a couple of challenges that I'm entering today's card. =) I'm so excited!

I used Life's A Beach for the sun. I originally cut out the sun for my husband to use the negative as a stencil for the sandbox he was building for our daughter. I couldn't let the cute little sun go to waste! I think I cut this at 3.5" and I stamped on a butterfly from Butterfly Beauties with Stampin' Up Ink. I stamped on the sun, then I stamped on a circle that I "pop-dotted" onto the sun. The sun was a bit too big, so I attached it to the base and trimmed the edges to flush with the base edges. I also "sponged" Handsome Hunter onto the sun.

Here I go again with the heat gun! I stamped on some swirls with the Versamark pad, sprinkled clear embossing powder, got to heating, then used the Embossing Resist Technique. After I was done with that, I stamped on some more swirls with Handsome Hunter.

Recipe
Paper - cardstock from stash
Cartridges - Life's A Beach
Ink - Stampin' Up Handsome Hunter, Versamark Frost
Stamps - Fiskars Swirls of Fun, Stampendous Butterfly Beauties, Hot Off the Press Tiny Words and Images
Other - Heat Gun, Hero Arts Ultra Clear Embossing Powder

I'm entering this project in the following challenges. Play along!

It's A Sweet Treats Birthday!

Good Morning Everyone! Big Birthday Wishes to my little sister Jovie. She turns 8 today! Growing too fast. I know she won't see this post until later, so I can safely put up a picture of the card I made for her.

I used the Sweet Treats Cartridge for this one. The cupcake is cut out at 5", and I used the card feature then cut out all the layers. I have a confession: I cut out one of the layers for another cupcake on this cartridge, but everything worked out and I think it came out cute. The patterned, embossed paper for the base of the cupcake is from DCWV Sweet Treats. The cupcake "wrapper" is from Me and My Big Ideas. I used plain pink cardstock for the heart, which i just "sponged" on some ink, distressed the edges, and randomly stamped on a pair of circles.

Here's a close up of my sentiment. I used Fabulous Finds for this one, cut out at 1". I edged the edges again with the same ink as the heart. I then broke out the heat gun and got to embossing! I've been wanting to try this for months since I discovered the technique... I originally wanted the sentiment to be embossed but I ended up embossing the entire piece. How I did it: I inked the edges, stamped the sentiment, sponged ink quickly over the entire piece, used Versamark Frost waterpad again over the entire piece, applied embossing powder then got to heating! The sentiment piece is "pop-dotted" over it's base to give it dimension.

Recipe
Paper - DCWV Sweet Stack, Me and My Big Ideas, stash
Cartridges - Sweet Treats, Fabulous Finds
Ink - Stampin' Up Baroque Burgundy, Versamark Frost Pad
Stamps - Hot Off the Press Tiny Words and Images, Fiskars Swirls of Fun
Other - Heat Gun, Hero Arts Unltra fine Clear Embossing Powder, Pop Dots

Hope you like it! Have a fabulous day!

Sandbox Time!

Hi Everyone. Sharing a picture-less (I havent printed the photo yet) layout today for my daughter's new sandbox built by her daddy. She absolutely loves it! My husband came home one afternoon and said, "I'm going to build her a sandbox." Off to Home Depot he went and came back with supplies... the sandbox was complete the next afternoon!

Recipe
Paper - cardstock from stash, DCWV Prints for the Year Ultimate Stack
Cartridges - Life's A Beach, Jasmine
Other - Gypsy, Fiskar's border punch, Spots and Dots Cuttlebug folder

Using Life's A Beach, I cut the shovel and bucket out at 6 inches. I used my Gyspy's Hide Contour feature so that I can make the shovel a different color than the bucket. The light blue cardstock behind the bucket and shovel is embossed with Spots and Dots Cuttlebug folder. Font for "TINKA'S" is from Jasmine Cartridge at 2 inches; "Sandbox" is from Life's A Beach also at 2 inches.

I'm also entering this layout in "My Creative Time's" Throwback Thursday Challenge that ends June 8th so you still have time if you'd like to play along!

As always, Have a fabulous day!
